The Fuel "Checkers" T-Shirt is an ode to California's M.C, the club that self-described itself as the "winningest" sled riders in the motorcycle game.
Their markings were a distinctive black and white checker board pattern, the same as the winning flag at the end of a race. The checkers riders wore their pattern like a suit of armour, painting it on their helmets and emblazoning it on their jerseys and riding pants.
